Catalpa
Catalpa
By Donal O’Kelly
Fresh from an Eastern Canada tour, Ireland’s acclaimed theatre company, Blood in the Alley makes its Toronto debut.
Donal O’Kelly’s internationally acclaimed masterpiece follows the daring rescue of six Irish rebels from an Australian prison in 1875. A present-day writer struggling to sell his movie script based on the mission attempts to rekindle his belief by performing the story all alone in his bedroom, just for himself. Full of laughs, intrigue, suspense, and a tour-de-force solo-performance in which one actor plays over 15 different characters, Catalpa is a theatrical thrill-ride.
