Sharron’s bawdy humour, dazzling costumes and distinctive voice have earned her comparisons to the ‘other’ Divine Miss M - Bette Midler. Her dramatic and comic sensibilities are apparent not only in the wildly entertaining monologues weaved seamlessly between songs, but within the songs themselves, as Sharron effortlessly reveals the vibrancy, heartbreak and hilarity of the stories within each song’s lyrics.
SHARRON’S PARTY! has featured as Special Guests some of Canada’s most talented and established musical theatre performers, including Stratford’s Blythe Wilson and Steve Ross, CanStage’s Thom Allison and Broadway’s Louise Pitre, to name a few.
SHARRON’S PARTY! has been entertaining sold-out audiences at Toronto’s Gladstone Hotel monthly for the past 2 years, and now the naughty cabaret is taking it’s crowd-pleasing show on the road. The timing of ending the Toronto run at the Gladstone coincides with the much-anticipated release of PARTY GIRL, a compilation of Sharron and Patrick’s best pop cabaret confections.
Performing in the biggest musicals in North America, singing with symphonies, providing the voices of animated characters, writing and compiling her own shows and cabarets plus working in front of the cameras have kept Sharron Matthews busy throughout the last 20 years of her career. Sharron has starred in many of Toronto’s best-known musicals, including Les Miserables (with Colm Wilkinson) and Beauty and the Beast, and has been featured in such hit films as Mean Girls and Cinderella Man.
